Hold Those Comments!
With the rise of in-home technology, this has changed the way we need to act when looking at homes to buy. There are so many options out there for surveillance that chances are high you won’t know when you’re being watched or listened to. Alexa, Echo Dot, Ring, Google Home and the list goes on and on…
Even in those ‘vacant’ homes, we are seeing hidden cameras & speakers. Then the seller and their listing agent can hear what’s been said during the showing. If you show too much emotion, that’ll cost you… it takes away some of our leverage when negotiating.
As we see the influx of “iBuyer” homes on the market, this has hurried the pace of this new theme. They use it for true surveillance as well to keep tabs on their inventory, but it serves a dual purpose.
The best thing for us to do is to speak outside once done viewing the home. Then we can share feelings without hesitation and discuss the proper terms for an offer.
