Our lives and society are rapidly changing & evolving… much of this progression is being pushed by new technologies and lack of patience. Real Estate is not excluded from this. In fact, the landscape of the Real Estate Industry is one of the most sought after spaces for “startups” and billionaire investors. After all, people need a place to live so everyone is impacted by Real Estate, in form or another.

Unfortunately though, there can be a cost to the consumer for not doing their proper homework & diligence. Sure there are ‘shiny new objects’ constantly being touted in front of us on the radio, television and in our social media feeds, but while many companies are preaching about how they’re making the process of Buying & Selling Real Estate more user friendly, they are in business to make money.

These (sometimes not really) new concepts are not working for free. They have investors expecting certain returns on that capital and if they do not deliver such, they will have to fold up shop.

The promises can sound really good, but there is an old saying

“if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is”.

This is often times the truth. There are caveats, restrictions, other terms & conditions, etc that need to be factored in.

A Home is normally one’s largest single asset so maximizing it’s value is critical to long-term wealth & financial welfare. Buying a Home is full of emotions… something an algorithm cannot relate to, but we, as people, can.

Don’t Sacrifice Service for Perceived Convenience!

Do you walk into court without a Lawyer or show up for surgery without a Doctor? The answer is generally no. All I’m trying to point out is that when you’re looking to make a move in Real Estate, then why wouldn’t you hire the right Realtor® (adviser) to ensure your best interests are being promoted & protected? Key words there were “right” and “adviser” since not all Realtors are created equal. When you find the right one, their value will shine through and you’ll feel good about the whole experience.

So… the next time you see a promotion or program online looking to pair you up with someone that you have no clue about their ability/experience or where the benefits sound too good to be true, I encourage you to pause, do some research and gather professional opinions so you know all your true options. Then you can make the right, educated decision for you and your family.
